Elevate is a multi-denominational gathering of young adults from the Golden Isles of Coastal Georgia and the surrounding areas that are seeking to become more like the historical figure known as Jesus Christ, develop an intimate relationship with our Creator, God, and be developed into servants that follow the leading of His Holy Spirit.
If none of the previous run-on sentence makes any sense to you, you’re not alone. This church stuff sometimes comes out sounding much more complicated than Jesus meant it to. We’re a community of believers that is aiming to unpack a lot of baggage. Specifically, the kind of baggage that makes us less of a body of servants aiming to bless the world and more like members of a country club looking for comfort and material junk.
Anyone from college students to young marrieds, and everywhere in between, is sure to feel at home in our community. Unless, of course, you like to skip over the parts in the bible where Jesus invites us into the Kingdom of Heaven here and now, where our faith has to actually cost us something. We are personally responsible for living life in the margins. We are being challenged more and more every week to become people influenced by a biblical example of holiness, not by the images that we see on so-called reality t.v.
The worship music is intimate, passionate, and authentic. The spoken Word is an extension of what’s happening in our lives and applicable to our situations. The community is active and growing. Intense. Messy. Real.
